Sea of Thieves

Sea of Thieves guide — voyage choice

Sea of Thieves rewards players who treat a session as a plan, not a highlight reel. This page focuses on voyage choice so you can spend the next hour improving one habit instead of copying a random loadout. The notes below stay practical: what to do first, what to ignore, and how other players usually punish mistakes.

Sea of Thieves still from IGN coverage

Voyage choice

SoT is a PvP sandbox wearing a PVE coat. Assume every world event has a second brig. That is the difference between a clean Sea of Thieves session and a reset.

Sell often. A full hold is a target.

Ship jobs

One on helm, one on sails, one on cannons. Silent crews lose to organized duos.

Emissary risk

Higher emissary is better loot and a louder bell. Cash out before you get greedy.

A simple Sea of Thieves checklist

Before you queue: know the mode, the map or biome, and the kit you can afford to lose. Sea of Thieves punishes hero loadouts more often than it punishes slow play.

After you die: write one sentence about the mistake. If the sentence is “I got unlucky,” you are not learning the game yet.
